Con Free Divin’, l’Emiliano Roca Trio offre molto più di un semplice disco: è un invito a vivere la musica come uno spazio di libertà, narrazione e connessione.
Tra i brani più rappresentativi del disco, Alcúdia è un omaggio all’omonima cittadina situata sulla costa dell’isola di Mallorca. Scritta da Roca dopo una vacanza trascorsa insieme al resto del trio, questa composizione tenta di restituire l’atmosfera del mare di settembre sull’isola, con i suoi cambi di ritmo, di intensità e di tempo. Chill Pill for Bill nasce invece in una notte d’autunno dalla penna di Roca e Ramdas, durante il periodo in cui i due convivevano nella stessa casa all’Aia. Il titolo, un gioco di parole ideato da Ramdas dopo la stesura, rispecchia l’ironia e la spontaneità che hanno accompagnato la sua creazione. Infine Smell of Summer That Goes Away è una delle canzoni più datate del repertorio, scritta dal leader in terra salentina durante il passaggio tra la stagione estiva e quella autunnale. Il brano cerca di evocare l’odore dell’estate che lentamente svanisce, lasciando spazio a quello dell’autunno e generando quella sottile nostalgia che accompagna la fine della bella stagione.

Free Divin’ is a debut album with a modern sound and unmistakably international breath—deeply melodic yet boldly rooted in a blend of diverse styles. Set for release on November 6th on Emme Record Label, the record introduces the unique voice of the Emiliano Roca Trio, formed in 2020 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Led by guitarist and composer Emiliano Roca, the trio includes Indian bassist Arjun Ramdas and Latvian drummer Davids Eglītis. The group came together during their studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where a shared passion for creative experimentation sparked a rare and vibrant musical chemistry.
Their studio debut is a clear declaration of artistic identity: a collection of original compositions by Roca that seamlessly merge elements of rock, country, jazz, and Latin American influences into a fresh, dynamic, and emotionally charged sound. Each piece reflects places, moments, and feelings that shaped the trio’s journey in recent years.
Free Divin’ invites listeners to dive freely into the music—letting imagination guide them through new soundscapes where melody and meaning intertwine.
